Terrible item, beef gets pushed up into every space on the insidewhere teh adjustment screw runs. I can patty hamburgers 2 times faster with my hands than messing with this piece of junk.

For a Basic Patty Maker it does a basic job.
The adjustment screw is a coarse thread so fine tuning the thickness of your patties will prove tedious. If you are just a home cook looking to shape some patties for weekend grilling and getting exactly 5 or 6 patties per pound is not very important than this is the right buy.
Please note that you will need to hand wash this as my dishwasher seems to corrode the metal. To make the cleaning easier I use wax paper on top and under the patty before pressing. Makes clean up a snap and easy to separate the burgers later.
