solid performerMar 07, 2010 Pro- I like that you can take several readings within seconds of each other and see the average or high temperature. It's definitely technique sensitive so you will need to practice a few times to get it down. Try it out in everyone in the family when you get it so when you need it you'll have a reliable reading.
Con- I don't like where the button is- at least for my hands it feels a little awkward. This is fortunately overcome though with some practicing.
I definitely would buy it again though- it's a solid performer, making temperature taking much easier and faster than any other method.
Best thermometer yetMar 06, 2010 When the kids were infants, we had the in-ear thermometer. Great at the time, but after several years of use it finally died. Kids were older and I didn't want to invest in another in-ear thermometer, so I went with a cheap digital readout oral thermometer. I went through about four of them, each one a bigger piece of junk than the next. I decided to suck it up and get another good one. After a little research, I took a chance on this one. Wow, am I happy I did! It is the easiest, most reliable thermometer I've ever owned, including the in-ear. So easy (after a few practice runs) that my kids can take their own temps now. Don't be worried by the reviewers who can't figure it out...it's very simple to use. Read the directions and practice it a few times. It's amazing!
It's also ten dollars cheaper at amazon compared to my local Walgreens.

All over the mapFeb 25, 2010 It's really a great concept and if it worked would be worth the money if it gave an accurate reading. My 2 year old is scared of it. Probably thinks some big needle will poke her in the forehead. If we're lucky to get a reading, the temp is about 4-10 degrees lower than actual. I read myself and it's low. Something that is designed to be easy to use should be calibrated out of the box. I'll keep working at it, but I'd save your money and go old school thermometer.

Easy to use!Feb 17, 2010 This is accurate and easy to use....I don't know why there are any negatives on this...But, as far as accuracy goes its pretty much on the money. On 2 seperate occasions I have taken it to the doctors office and taken the temperature after the nurse. The first time it was on the money same as the nurses reading and the second time it was (.1) degree off. The nurses showed 99.8 and this device showed 99.7---I don't know about you but .1 degree off is pretty darn accurate to me and the nurse agreed as well. If U are getting inaccurate readings or the sweating issue---try taking it with u when you go to the doctor. The nurses are great with these things because they use them all the time. Also, be sure to READ the instructions and the entire manual carefully. I read mine twice just be sure I complete understood how it works. Also, you cannot compare an armpit reading to a forehead reading---it's not going to be the same temperature I don't care what type of device you are using. Boby temperatures will vary based on the location of area you are taking the temperature per my pediatrician. He also gave me a copy of a chart for normal temperature readings based on age and the location of where the temperature is taken. So, if you take a armpit temp., mouth temp., or forehead temp.---the temps. will vary some based on where you take the temperature...this is a proven medical fact. So, far I'm totally satified with this product and I've owned it almost a year...I have 7 month old and 3 year old and the beeping is not an issue with them. Love it and will buy another one even if this one goes bad.

Every home should have one.Feb 08, 2010 I am an RN, and bought this to have the most accurate thermometer available. It works perfectly (follow the directions) and immediately. I think every home should have one, as all hospitals and most clinics do.
